A Duluth college student who is recovering from severe hypothermia and frostbite seems to be making more progress.
Alyssa Lommel's mom posted a CaringBridge site update saying her daughter's voice is very hoarse and soft, but that it keeps improving every day.
Lommel spent about nine hours on a porch in 15 below temperatures after a night of drinking. Doctors started taking her off pain medication. She's starting to get more and more coherent by the day.
Doctors said they are getting close to being ready to do some amputations. That could be done by the end of the week.
