A community fundraiser in memory of Anarae Schunk was held in Eagan Sunday at Cedarvale Lanes.
Schunk's body was found in October near a farm outside of Londsale after she had been missing for weeks.
Miya Wawracz-Harms organized the purple bowling event. The two bonded when Schunk, a student at the University of Minnesota, tutored Wawracz-Harms in math.
"I think she would be very honored, actually," Wawracz-Harms said. "I think that she would just feel very respected and that she would love it."
The event began at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 for unlimited bowling. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds will benefit Cornerstone, a domestic abuse prevention organization.
