A judge has cleared the way for a proposed $400 million downtown Minneapolis development near the future Minnesota Vikings stadium.
Hennepin County Judge Mel Dickstein denied a request Friday for a temporary restraining order.
At issue was whether the City Council has the right to establish a park in the Downtown East project.
In his ruling, Dickstein found the council has the authority to buy the land but that the city charter gives the authority to run parks to the Park Board.
The Star Tribune reports the judge found no compelling reason to issue a restraining order, as long as the city and Park Board keep working together.
The area is currently owned by the Star Tribune. The newspaper's headquarters would be demolished to make way for the park.
