A Brooklyn Park man received the longest prison sentence for a sex-trafficking defendant in Minnesota history.
Twenty-seven-year-old Antonio Dion Washington-Davis was sentenced to nearly 36 years in prison after a jury convicted him of three counts of second-degree promotion of prostitution, first-degree solicitation to practice prostitution, second-degree solicitation to practice prostitution, and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
According to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, the sex-trafficking ring was in operation from September 2010 to July 2012. It was discovered after St. Paul Police received an email from a woman who said her 15-year-old granddaughter had been targeted by a group of sex traffickers and that other women were being sold for sex, according to the criminal complaint.
Other members of Washington-Davis’ family were also convicted for their involvement, including his brother, Otis Washington; his uncle, Robert James Washington; and his other uncle, Calvin Roy Washington.
