It’s the season for heartwarming surprises for kids and families across the country.

A soldier made it home for Christmas in Spokane, Washington. Sergeant Tyler Brown had been in Afghanistan for the past nine months.

His wife, Katie, has been home taking care of their 2 and 3-year-old kids. She took them to see Santa Monday, and they got quite a surprise.

Sergeant Brown landed just hours before.

He says he's just thrilled to spend Christmas with his family.
