The debate over what to do with the state sex offender program will be the governor’s focus Tuesday.
Gov. Mark Dayton will meet with legislative leaders and former Chief Justice Eric Magnuson to look over recommendations made by the Sex Offender Civil Commitment Advisory Task Force.
Those recommendations include reviews every two years for sex offenders who have been civilly committed, meaning they’re serving time beyond their sentence.
In the past 20 years, only one sex offender has been released from the program.
