A 10th grader at Tartan High School in Oakdale was hospitalized after being stabbed while walking home from school Friday, according to school officials.
North St. Paul-Oakdale-Maplewood school district spokeswoman Jennifer McNeil said, the student was stabbed off campus around 3 p.m.
Police found the student conscious with multiple injuries on the ground in the 600 block of Granada Avenue North. They took him back to the high school to be treated by emergency personnel.
The student was taken to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Law enforcement said a juvenile was arrested in connection to the stabbing.
Authorities say the attack apparently was not random. No other suspects are sought.
The school was put into lockdown for about an hour during the incident as a precaution for students who remained in the building after school, McNeil reported.
