There is another report of an armed robbery in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood of Minneapolis.
According to a crime alert from the University of Minnesota, a student was walking near the intersection of 14th Avenue Southeast and Sixth Street around 9 a.m. Wednesday when someone came up to her with a gun.
The suspect took her backpack and ran. The backpack contained the student's iPad, iPhone and wallet. She was not injured in the robbery.
According to the alert, the student did not report the crime until 9 p.m. so officers were unable to conduct an immediate search for the suspect.
The suspect's mouth and nose were covered by a sweater collar, so the student could only give a vague description of him.
Minneapolis Police are investigating this off-campus crime. Anyone with information is asked to call the Minneapolis police tip line at 612-692-8477 and reference case number MP-13-411067.
This latest robbery comes during a recent rise in crime in the area. University of Minnesota Police are working closely with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and Minneapolis Police to step up patrols on and around the campus.
