2 Children Unaccounted for after SW Minn. House Fire

Two children are unaccounted for and a firefighter was injured in a house fire near Marshall Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, the fire started around 2:30 p.m. at a two-story single family farmhouse in rural Lucan in Redwood County.

Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to the fire.

Two adults and several other children were able to escape without injury, according to officials.

A firefighter with the Vesta Fire Department slipped on the ice and was injured. His condition is unknown. His name is not being released pending notification of his family.

The cause of the fire is unknown and being investigating by the state fire marshal.

Lucan is 22 mile east of Marshall, Minn.
