A fire broke out on the second floor of a hotel in Burnsville overnight.

Firefighters responded to the Travelodge Hotel on the 12900 block of Aldrich Avenue South early Wednesday morning.

The unit was occupied at the time, but everyone got out. Only one unit was severely damaged, but another 20 are uninhabitable for the next few days, the Fire Chief says. Crews say the building didn’t have sprinklers.

Bloomington and Savage Fire Departments also responded. The cause has not yet been determined.
