The groundbreaking for the new Vikings stadium is on Tuesday. Fans are invited but there's a small window to get free tickets.

Starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Gate D at the Metrodome, the team will be giving away tickets first come first served for the groundbreaking which begins at 10. The Vikings will hand out about 250 tickets, they expect former and current players to take part.

The Vikings last game at the Dome is on Dec. 29 against the Lions. The Metrodome will be torn down in January. The new stadium is expected to open by July of 2016.
