The 80th annual Twin Cities 'Turkey Bowl' kicks off Thanksgiving morning at St. Thomas Academy.

It’s a longtime family tradition between the Battises and the Bohens. The two families have lived in St. Paul for generations.

The game started decades ago as a way for the boys to get out of the way of the women cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

Now the boys and girls of all ages play.

The family tradition runs from 10:30 a.m. until noon every Thanksgiving.
