There aren’t many candies that come with a warning label, but the FDA says kids should eat black licorice in moderation this Halloween.

Researchers have linked black licorice to an irregular heartbeat. Experts say it contains a sweetening compound that can lower potassium levels.

“If you already have heart disease or high blood pressure then you should be a little more cognizant of how you're feeling if you're eating this kind of licorice and stop eating it if you think you notice any type of irregular heartbeats,” Kate Patton with Cleveland Clinic said.

Researchers say that eating just two ounces a day for two weeks is too much.
