A 31-year-old Rosemount man was indicted by a Dakota County Grand Jury Thursday in connection with the shooting death of a 23-year-old Savage man that occurred Sept. 22 outside of a bar and grill in Burnsville.

According to the Dakota County Attorney's Office, Anthony Lee Nelson, aka Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson, was indicted with murder in the first degree (with premeditation) and murder in the second degree (intentional) in connection with the fatal shooting of Palagor Obang Jobi.

The investigation into the death of Jobi is connected to the investigation into the death of a University of Minnesota student, 20-year-old  Anarae Schunk. However, the cases are being treated as separate, independent investigations, police reported.

Schunk disappeared following the shooting death of Jobi at Nina's Grill in Burnsville, according to police. Police say Schunk was with her ex-boyfriend, Nelson.

Nelson's current girlfriend, 24-year-old Ashley Conrade, has also been charged in connection with the shooting of Jobi. She was charged with one count of aiding an offender for allegedly harboring, concealing, aiding and assisting Nelson to avoid or escape from arrest, trial, conviction or punishment connected to the Jobi death investigation case.

Nelson and Jobi reportedly got into a fight before the shooting. Conrade told police that Schunk returned to Conrade's townhouse in Rosemount with her and Nelson following the shooting.

Police believe Schunk was killed in Rosemount the day she went missing. Her body was later found in rural Rice County.

The investigation surrounding the death of Schunk is continuing.

Nelson is expected to make his first court appearance Friday. He currently remains in custody in Dakota County Jail.
