A couple fatally shot at a Rosemount apartment likely was involved in a murder-suicide.
Police responded around 5:48 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, to conduct a welfare check on the married couple who lived in an apartment on the 2900 block of 146th Street West, according to Rosemount police. Officers found the bodies of a woman and a man.
The couple has been identified as 32-year-old Steven Lee Vasey Jr. and 31-year-old Melissa Vasey. Steven Vasey suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and Melissa Vasey suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
Preliminary results from the medical examiner's office indicate the incident was a murder-suicide.
There were no indications of a struggle between the couple, police reported. Police records indicate no prior calls to the residence.
Rosemount police are investigating the incident, with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. No other suspects are being sought in connection with the incident.
