While veterans and military families are left stressing over the federal government shutdown, there’s one place where Congress can go to get away from it all.
Both the House and Senate gyms are open.
Although some, like Democratic Congressman Bruce Braley from Iowa, complain about having to bring their own towels.
Braley is coming under fire for the comments he made Wednesday.
“There’s no towel service,” he said. “We’re doing our own laundry down there and we pay a fee.”
Only essential government services are supposed to be open right now, but some argue that a fit Congress is important.
