Fridley Man's Body Pulled from Mississippi River

A man's body was found in the Mississippi River at Riverfront Park in Fridley over the weekend.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, two people passing by in canoes noticed the body around 2 p.m. Sunday. They paddled to shore and called authorities.

Crews who responded to the scene found the man's body in the water. He was later identified as a 59-year-old Fridley man. At this point, authorities are not releasing his name.

The man's body was in the water for several days, and there were no visible signs of trauma to his body.

The cause of his death is under investigation.
