Minnesota Native Dies While Hiking in Idaho
A Minnesota family is mourning the loss of their sister who died during a hiking trip.
Amelia Linkert grew up in Rosemount and taught at Anderson Elementary School in Minneapolis in the 1990's.
She moved to Boise, Idaho in 2000 and was out hiking last week with a friend at Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve in Idaho.
The pair disappeared and her body was later found.
Officials say Linkert died due to exposure to the elements. Her body will be cremated in Idaho.
Crews had to suspend Sunday's search for her friend due to bad weather.
