A family who came to the Twin Cities seeking a better life is now heartbroken and asking for your help.

Their son and brother was murdered and dumped in a Shoreview parking lot. Ramsey County investigators hope you can help.

Twenty-six-year-old Hagos Melake was a college student with a clean record. He lived in South St. Paul with his family. Melake was shot in the head, and his death remains a mystery.

"We need help," Melake's father said. "Hagos was a great son, a great student, a hard worker. Please. We need help. Somebody see this crime. Somebody see it."

Investigators have some very strong clues, including security video at an ATM in Minneapolis where a woman used Melake's debit card just hours before his body was discovered.

Police are also calling two men "persons of interest." Police say Melake may have gotten into a car with them hours before he was killed.

Police say Melake had no record of trouble, but he may have taken a ride from the men because he was very trusting.

Melake was born in the east African country of Eritrea. He came to the U.S. with his dad in 1993.

If you think you may recognize one of the three persons of interest, police want to hear from you.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office at 651-266-7320. You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. There is a reward in this case.
