Demolition crews are not planning to change their procedures for the new St. Paul Saints ballpark in downtown St. Paul following a worker's death at the site.
Sixty-one-year-old Johnny Valek of Plymouth was killed earlier this month when a piece of concrete fell on him.
Rachel Contracting, the demolition subcontractor working on the Lowertown Ballpark for Ryan Companies and the city of St. Paul, has completed its review of the demolition plan it created for the Diamond Products building located on the ballpark site.
On Wednesday, they released the results, which found that the current approach is the best for demolishing the remaining structure, Ryan Companies reported.
Officials from Ryan Companies and the city of St. Paul were expected to review and approve additional details of the demolition plan by the end of the day Wednesday.
When the plan is approved, demolition will resume.
Officials tell KSTP even with the delay in work, the ballpark is on schedule to open in 2015.
