Missing Florida Girls Found Safe in Montana, Father Arrested
The two missing girls taken by their father with ties to Minnesota have been located in Montana. Six year-old McKala and 11-year-old Madison Peters were last seen Sunday in Florida.
Police thought their father, Edward Peters, may have been headed to Minnesota because he once lived here. The children were last seen in the area of South Hummingbird Avenue in Inverness, Florida on Sunday. Authorities say Edward Peters took his two young daughters against the wishes of their court-ordered guardian.
Peters was on pre-trial release and removed his GPS ankle monitor issued to him in August, according to the ABC affiliate WFTS in Tampa, Fla.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension reported Thursday Peters was arrested in Montana. The girls are unharmed.
