BCA: 2 Missing Fla. Kids Might be in Minn.
Two missing children from Florida are believed to be headed to northern Minnesota with their father, who does not have custody.
According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, 11-year-old Madison Peters and 6-year-old McKala Peters may be with their father, Edward Peters.
Investigators have learned Peters used to live in Minnesota. His vehicle was found in Sanilac County, Michigan late Saturday night. Investigators believe the three may be traveling in a black 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada, Michigan Tag # CNH7211. The vehicle was reported stolen from a campground in Sanilac County.
The children were last seen in the area of South Hummingbird Avenue in Inverness, Florida on Sunday, Sept. 8. Authorities say Edward Peters took his two young daughters against the wishes of their court-ordered guardian.
There is a warrant out for his arrest. Peters was on pre-trial release and removed his GPS ankle monitor issued to him in August, according to the ABC affiliate WFTS in Tampa, Fla.
Authorities are concerned about the safety of the two girls.
Florida detectives asked Michigan to issue an Amber Alert, but an alert has not been issued due to the circumstances not meeting the state's requirements.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact local authorities or call 911.
