Authorities ID Woman Killed, Man Hurt in Granite Falls Shooting

Investigators have identified the woman killed and man critically injured in a shooting in Granite Falls.
Police responded to a 911 call about 3:30 a.m. Monday in the southwestern Minnesota town. Upon arrival, they found 26-year-old Kara Monson of Granite Falls dead from a gunshot wound and 28-year-old Christopher Panitzke of Redwood Falls critically-injured. He is being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center for multiple gunshot wounds.
On Wednesday, authorities located a vehicle believed to be driven by a person of interest in the killing.
28-year-old Andrew Joseph Dikken of Granite Falls is still at-large according to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. A 1996 GMC Sierra pickup - believed to belong to Dikken - was found in a remote location about 5 miles north of Belview, Minn., off of Redwood County Road 7.
Officials say the man is Monson's ex-boyfriend.
Anyone with information about Dikken's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
Granite Falls police, the Yellow Medicine Sheriff's Office and the BCA are investigating the case.
