The Minnesota State Fair is entering its final days, and through it all, the weather has played such a big roll in its success.

First it was the heat wave and then heavy rain stopped Saturday night's grandstand concert for a short time.

The extreme heat drove down attendance earlier this week, but the hopes for a rebound appear to be coming true.

After a low of 94,076 visitors on Tuesday, numbers grew by 25,000 on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Friday, 158,164 people visited the fair.

Even more people showed up Saturday, attendance figures show there were about 196,200 people at the fair. However, the rain may have kept some people away. That number is down from the 226,863 fairgoers that showed up on day 10 of the fair in 2012.

During the first 10 days of the fair, attendance is down 94,288 visitors from 2012.

On Sunday, the Midway was packed. Official numbers will be out Monday.

With cooler temperatures and the holiday on Monday, fair organizers have high hopes for a strong turn out for the last few days.
