Hot temperatures caused the Minnesota State Fair to start out a little slower than organizers had hoped. However, attendance is starting to picking up again because of the holiday weekend and cooler temperatures.
Crowds were out in full force Friday with 158,164 people at the fair. That's not as much as the visitors seen in 2012 for day nine, with 164,694 people.
On Thursday, 117,480 people attended. It beats 2012 figures, when 101,379 people came out for day eight of the fair.
The tally was nowhere near the record set back in 1995 with 155,183 visitors.
Saturday night there a lot of hip-hop fans were expected as Macklemore and Ryan Lewis perform to a sold-out crowd at the grandstand.
