3 Sporting Events Could Mean Traffic Headache Thursday
Multiple sporting events will make for a busy afternoon rush in the metro Thursday.
The Minnesota Twins kick off the athletic festivities with the first pitch being thrown out just after noon.
That will be followed by a University of Minnesota football game, and then it will be the last preseason Vikings game.
The confluence could make for a congested afternoon rush as thousands of sports fans pour into town and workers try to leave.
The city is urging people to use light rail, commuter rail, buses, and bicycles.
While congestion is possible, downtown bars and restaurants are looking forward to the crowds and are expecting a bit of a business boom.
