5-Year-Old Dies After Being Pulled from Grand Rapids Lake
A 5-year-old boy drowned Saturday after he tried to climb onto a swimming raft on a Grand Rapids lake, according to police.
Officers from the Grand Rapids Police Department responded to a report of a possible drowning at Crystal Lake in Northeast Grand Rapids at 1:30 p.m. The boy went under the water after he failed to climb onto the raft.
First responders pulled the boy from the water and took him to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital where he later died. The body was sent to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner.
Grand Rapids Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
