More families are putting money away for college, but as tuition rises most parents are still falling short of their savings goal.
A new Fidelity survey finds a record 69 percent of families have started saving for college, and most have about $5,000 put aside. But that’s only about a third of what most want to save.
As a result, more than half the families surveyed worry their kids will have to compromise on quality when choosing a college.
