Boa Constrictor is Stillwater Family's Surprise Visitor
A Stillwater family discovered a 5-foot Boa constrictor on their deck Wednesday morning.
One family member said when he first saw the Boa, he thought it was a stick. He quickly realized that he was looking at a big snake when it crawled up on his deck a few moments later.
When the snake stayed on the deck for a few hours, the family called police.
This particular snake is pretty harmless and no one was in danger, said Sarah Richard, the adoption chair for the Minnesota Herpetological Society. In Minnesota, these snakes can't live in the wild past October, she said.
After the snake gets a clean bill of health, it will be put up for adoption.
