A Minneapolis woman has been sentenced to three years in prison for abducting a friend's baby.
According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, 30-year-old Isabel Diaz-Castillo was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to one count of kidnapping back in July.
The abduction of the 8-month-old boy last February prompted an Amber Alert. Prosecutors say Diaz-Castillo befriended the baby's mother about a month before the child was taken from his Minneapolis apartment. Authorities found Diaz-Castillo with the baby in her arms in the basement of her apartment.
The attorney’s office says Diaz-Castillo will get credit for 181 days she's been behind bars.
She faces deportation when her sentence is complete and must register as a predatory offender if she remains in the U.S.
