A nurse at the Isanti County Jail has been accused of writing fraudulent prescriptions for oxycodone and hydrocodone.
Cara Sue Lindgren, 39, of Cambridge has been arrested and charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and fraudulent statements in reference to alternative prescriptions, the Isanti County Sheriff's Office reported Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Lindgren was assigned as a jail nurse through the company Advanced Correctional Healthcare (ACH). The company is the medical provider for the Isanti County Jail.
Authorities began investigating the case Aug. 8 after the company reported some discrepancies in prescription medications that were ordered through the jail, according to the sheriff's office. A substantial amount of oxycodone and hydrocodone had been ordered.
Authorities also began investigating allegations of fraudulent prescriptions.
Authorities then arrested Lindgren, who appeared in court last week. She's since been released from jail on bail with conditions, the sheriff's office reported.
