Still No Arrests after Deadly Shooting in Burnsville
One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in the south metro Tuesday, and police say no one has been arrested.
Police are investigating two separate crime scenes – a townhome in Burnsville and a SuperAmerica gas station in Eagan.
A vehicle with two gunshot victims pulled into the gas station, 2250 Cliff Road E. in Eagan, around 2 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13. When police responded to the scene, they found the victims inside the vehicle, a Honda CRV.
Police found a man dead, and a second man wounded by a gunshot, according to Burnsville police. The second victim was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. His condition was unknown Tuesday afternoon.
The victims' names are being withheld pending notification of their family.
A woman told police that the shooting happened on the 2100 block of East 117th Street in Burnsville, which is about a mile away from the gas station. Police say they don't know why the victims went to a gas station instead of a hospital.
The case remains under investigation as police continue searching for suspects. The shooting does not appear to be a random act.
