Cokato Man Sentenced for Triple Fatal Crash

A Cokato man was sentenced Friday to more than four years in prison for his role in a deadly crash that killed three generations of one family.
Paul Wickenhauser pleaded guilty in Kandiyohi County District Court to three counts of felony criminal vehicular homicide. He was sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison.
Wickenhauser was 21 years old at the time of the crash.
According to court documents, Wickenhauser told police he was drinking the night of the Aug. 17, 2012, crash. Wickenhauser was driving a pickup truck east on Highway 12 near Willmar when he crossed the center line and hit a minivan head-on.
The minivan went into the ditch and caught on fire.
Five-year-old Jason Hoffman was the only survivor of the crash. His mother, sister and grandmother were killed. Forty-year-old Michelle Hoffman, of Eden Prairie, and her 68-year-old mother-in-law, Marta Stoffers, of Atwater, died at the scene.
Hoffman's 8-year-old daughter, Julia, was later pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center.
