2 Hurt After Semi Rolls on EB I-94 in Mpls., Causes Back Up
Two people were hurt after a rollover accident that backed up traffic on eastbound Interstate 94 for several hours in Minneapolis Saturday afternoon.
A semi rolled causing the crash with three other vehicles around 10 a.m., on I-94 near 42nd Avenue, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Troopers said a pickup truck lost the trailer it was hauling and a semi swerved to avoid it. The semi then landed on top of an SUV.
People had to be pulled from at least one of the vehicles, according to authorities.
According to the state patrol, two drivers, 43-year-old Brett Volkmeier of Northfield and 57-year-old William Fedock of Burnsville suffered non-life threatening injuries. Six others were not hurt.
All four eastbound lanes were blocked and traffic was getting by on the shoulder at one point. The freeway fully reopened around 1 p.m.
The state patrol is still investigating.
