Police Don't Think Fatal St. Paul Shooting was Random

St. Paul police are continuing to follow leads, but haven't made any arrests in connection to the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man late Thursday.
The shooting happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the area of Payne and Lawson Avenues, according to police. Officers learned of the shooting when they responded to a report of a large fight in the area of Payne and Case Avenues.
The man was taken to Regions Hospital, where he later died. He has not been identified.
Police don't believe the shooting was a random act.
Earlier in the evening, officers responded to a report of a separate large fight. At this time, police don't know if the two incidents are related.
