Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, charged with murder for what prosecutors say was the execution-style killing of a friend near his house, was denied bail on Thursday. He's also being investigated in connection with another murder.

ABC News has learned he's being investigated in a drive-by shooting last summer in Boston that left two men dead.

ESPN reports that Boston police found the SUV they were looking for in that drive-by shooting. They say Hernandez rented the SUV.

The murders of the men in that drive-by happened just hours after Hernandez was witnessed in a fight at a nightclub.

Wednesday he was charged with first degree murder for orchestrating Odin Lloyd's execution. He was a 27-year-old semi-pro football player from Boston who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

Police arrested a second man in connection with Llyod's death, but officials haven't explained his role. They are looking for a third man police consider armed and dangerous.

Hernandez's lawyer argued that he is not a risk to flee, and the case against him is circumstantial.

Prosecutors say a search of Hernandez's Hummer turned up an ammunition clip matching the caliber of casings found at the scene of Lloyd's murder.
