BP Engineer Accused in Oil Spill Cover-up Goes to Court

It was the worst offshore oil spill in US history. Wednesday, a former BP engineer will go to court for getting rid of crucial information about the spill.
Kurt Mix is accused of deleting hundreds of text messages that indicated BP was releasing far more crude oil into the water than it was telling the public. He’s charged with two counts of obstruction of justice.
It’s the first criminal case in the Department of Justice probe into the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig explosion that killed 11 people.
Nearly 5 million gallons of oil leaked into the Gulf of Mexico.
