Police Identify Skeletal Remains Found in Burnsville Park

Skeletal remains found in a park in Burnsville have been identified as Lorenzo Pacheco, a 61-year-old man who went missing about a year ago from his home near the park.

Pacheco, also known as Moreno-Pacheco and Pacheco Orozco, has been missing since April 15, 2012. Police at the time conducted a search multiple times for Pacheco in Murphy Hanrahan Park, where his body was recently found April 13.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the remains using previous medical records, Burnsville police reported Tuesday. The medical examiner did not find evidence of criminal activity that may have contributed to his death, according to authorities.

A man, who was walking with his dog through the park, found the remains.

The investigation, which was conducted by the Burnsville Police Department, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, has been closed.
