Man Arrested in Shakopee Shooting, 1 Man Killed
A 27-year-old suspect has been arrested in a shooting Thursday night that killed a 19-year-old Shakopee High School student.
Steven Andre Moore, of Minneapolis, has been arrested, Shakopee police reported. Two other suspects are being sought.
Police were called at about 10:44 p.m. Thursday on reports of a man being shot at the Hunters Ridge Apartments on the 600 block of Gorman Street, according to Shakopee police.
Police say three suspects entered the apartment, shot the three people who lived there and then took off from the scene.
Marcos Antino Pantaleon, 19, a student at Shakopee High School, was found dead when police arrived. A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old man were found with gunshot wounds. They both were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, according to police.
Their identities were not immediately released.
"Everyone in our school district and especially at Shakopee High School is deeply saddened by this news," Superintendent Rod Thompson said in a statement. "We have our support staff available at the high school and they are ready to help any staff members or students."
The shooting was not random and there was no immediate threat to the community, according to police.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. The BCA is assisting in the investigation.
Pantaleon's family has established a memorial fund in his honor, the school district said. Donations to the Marcos Memorial Fund can be made at any Wells Fargo bank.
