65-Year-Old Woman Killed in Oakdale Townhome Fire

A 65-year-old woman was killed in a fire at an Oakdale townhome Tuesday morning, according to authorities.

Crews responded to a report of a fire at the townhome in the 7000 block of 19th Street around 5 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to smoke coming from a window. They forced their way into the home and found a woman’s body inside.

Residents were evacuated. No one else was hurt in the fire.

Several other units suffered smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to authorities.

Authorities are working to notify family before releasing the victim's name.
