Brooklyn Center Man Seriously Hurt in Hit-and-Run

Police are looking for a hit-and-run suspect in a crash that sent one person to the hospital in Columbia Heights.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Friday in the crosswalk at 53rd and Central NE, according to police.

Witnesses say the man crossed against the 'Do Not Walk' signal when he was hit by a white or silver passenger car. Police say the driver did not stop.

The 35-year-old man from Brooklyn Center was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Police say the victim suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information should call Columbia Heights Police or the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
