Ex-Minn. Teacher Accused of Sex Abuse Appears in Court

A former Rice County teacher accused of sex abuse at a prestigious prep school is back in Minnesota.

This past October, prosecutors charged Lynn Seibel with sexually abusing six students at Shattuck St. Mary's in Faribault ten years ago.

Tuesday, Seibel made his first appearance in Rice County court.

A judge set his bail at $200,000 without any conditions or $100,000 with conditions.

Those conditions include no contact with victims, and no leaving the state without permission.

He also has to do weekly check-ins with the court and no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Seibel is due back in court next Friday.
