Rochester Pastor Pleads Guilty in Shooting of Granddaughter
A Rochester pastor charged with shooting and wounding his granddaughter in December has pleaded guilty to one felony count.
According to KSTP sister station KAAL, 61-year-old Stanley Wilkinson was in Olmsted County Court Monday morning.
He was charged in January with one count of intentional discharge of a firearm that endangers safety.
Police responded to the Wilkinson home Dec. 10 after a 911 call.
Wilkinson said he was asleep when he heard someone trying to get into his house.
He thought it was an intruder, so he got his gun and fired two shots.
He ended up shooting his 16-year-old granddaughter, Paige Wilkinson.
She's had several surgeries since then, and is still recovering.
Wilkinson will be sentenced April 15.
