Woman Charged with Kidnapping Mpls Baby Appears in Court
The woman charged with kidnapping an 8-month old boy from a south Minneapolis home appeared in court Monday.
Thirty-year-old Isabel Diaz Castillo was arrested last week after a four-hour search for Carlos Orozco.
Police found her with the boy in the basement of a relative's home.
The boy was reunited with his mother, who Diaz-Castillo had recently become friends with.
Diaz-Castillo is in jail. She faces up to four years in prison.
Public defender, Matthew Jaimet, was appointed to the case Monday.
Bail was left at $100,000 due to immigration issues.
