Girlfriend Charged in St. Paul Man's Hit-And-Run Death

The girlfriend of a man who died after being found in a St. Paul street is charged for his hit-and-run death.

Police say 50-year-old Mark Urang was found unconscious Wednesday night on Wells Street near Payne Avenue.

A man called police to report a fight just before 11 p.m., but by the time police got there they found Urang unconscious in the street. Police recovered a cell phone near him and determined it was Urang that called for help.

Police now say it was his girlfriend,  53-year-old Arlene Garcia, who ran him over leaving him in the cold. Court records also show Garcia was intoxicated.

Urang died from a head injury last night.

Garcia is charged with two counts of vehicle homicide. She is being held on $100,000 bail.
