Mixed News for Jobless Numbers
There's mixed news on the job front today.
Hiring was stronger over the past two years than previously thought, but the unemployment number is still ticking up.
The Labor Department says the rate is now up to 7.9 percent in January. That's up a tenth of a percent from December.
Meanwhile, employers added an average of 180,000 jobs per month from 2011 to 2012. That's up from previous estimates of 150,000.
