Concert Promoter Cancels 2013 River's Edge at Harriet Island

Back in June Harriet Island was rocking with the first 'River's Edge' music festival, but the event won't be back this summer.

At this point, an official reason for the cancellation hasn't been announced.

Brad Meyer of St. Paul Parks and Recreation tells KSTP.com he believes the concert promoter, Live Nation, canceled the concert because there wasn't a big enough draw of attendance regionally.

Meyer says the city is holding the last weekend in June for a possible event, although there are no firm plans at this point.

He says although the city did not see a measurable economic impact from last summer's event, the cancelation could hurt local vendors.

River's Edge Festival tweeted it's hopeful the event will once again take place in 2014.
