Robbery Suspect Arrested After High Speed Chase in Scott Co.
A robbery suspect was arrested after leading police on a high speed chase through Scott County.
According to Shakopee Police, the suspect robbed Famous Footwear on Marschall Road in Shakopee around 11:29 a.m. Monday.
The suspect, who had a gun, took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and safe along with an employees purse and cell phone. No one was inured in the robbery.
As police tried to pull over the suspect, he led them on a high speed chase reaching speeds of 95 miles per hour.
The suspect drove against the flow of traffic several times.
Officers tried to stop the suspect by using stop sticks, and vehicle-to-vehicle contact.
The suspect pulled into the Target parking lot in Savage where he was stopped by vehicle-to-vehicle contact.
He refused to get out of the vehicle, and to show both of his hands. He told officers he had a gun.
Police fired non-lethal shots at the man, and he was hit multiple times.
At one point, he looked an officer and said "shoot me" as he pointed his hand to his head.
The man said he wanted to talk to his wife to tell her goodbye.
He eventually got out of his vehicle and surrendered to police.
The suspect, identified as a 42-year-old man from Savage, was arrested, and police are investigating.
