Woodbury Students Find Stress Relief in After-School Yoga

From 'downward dog' to 'warrior two,' a group of students at Lake Middle School in Woodbury recently started de-stressing with yoga.

Sixth grade counselor Emily Frankfurth May, who is also a yoga teacher, started the after-school yoga club last month.

The group includes about 16 students and meets each Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Frankfurth May tells KSTP.com she started the club because yoga is a good outlet for students to have fun, while handling stress.

The yoga classes aim to teach students important life skills.

While sixth graders are dealing with packed schedules, Frankfurth May says it's important for students to relax, take a break, and really clear their minds.
