Minneapolis Fire Dept. to Hire New Firefighters

The Minneapolis Fire Department is on the verge of hiring 15 new firefighters.
The department is not accepting applications at this time, but will announce plans on the hiring process Monday.
According to the city, the last time the Minneapolis Fire Department opened up an applications process was in 2006 and they received about 1,800 applications.
The fire department says it is preparing for retirements among many long-time career firefighters in the coming years.
